Shirin Rezaee, born 1987 in Hamedan, Iran, is a photographer based in Tehran. She holds a degree in Visual Communication from Tehran Art University.
Her work investigates memory, human presence, and the traces left behind in urban and domestic spaces. Working in both color and black-and-white photography, she captures ephemeral moments, objects, gestures, and the subtle transformations of her surroundings over time.
Projects range from documenting the evolving expressions of Tehran's streets to exploring the selective fading of memory through hand-altered archival photographs. The work reflects on the tension between presence and absence, agency and constraint, and the shifting ways humans perceive and interpret the world.
Her practice combines careful observation with openness to chance. She revisits locations, documents traces, and alters images by hand, allowing each piece to emerge from both deliberate decisions and unplanned occurrences.
